Tony nominee Stark Sands and Company alum Angel Desai are among the complete cast set for Classic Stage Company's forthcoming production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest. As previously announced, the production will star Tony Award-winner Mandy Patinkin as Prospero, with Brian Kulick directing. Previews begin on September 3 at CSC for an opening on September 18. The limited engagement is scheduled to run through October 18.
Sands, who will play Ferdinand, received a 2007 Tony nomination for his performance in Journey's End and is featured in the new HBO series Generation Kill. In addition to Sands and Desai, who will play Ariel, the cast of The Tempest includes Craig Baldwin CSC's Richard II and III as Sebastian, Yusef Bulos Fiddler on the Roof as Gonzalo, Karl Kensler Twelve Angry Men as Antonio, Nana Mensah Mother Courage & Her Children as Female Sprite, Nyambi Nyambi 365 Days/365 Plays at the Public Theater as Caliban, Bhavesh Patel Lincoln Center's Hayden's Seven Last Words as Boatswain/Adrian/Male Sprite, Michael Potts Grey Gardens as Alonso, Steve Rattazzi CSC's The Alchemist as Stefano, Tony Torn Yellow Face as Trinculo and Elizabeth Waterston Much Ado About Nothing as Miranda.
